Paint Department Associate

North Branford, CT | Full-Time or Part-Time

Enjoy color, practical problem-solving, and helping people? Join the paint team at Country Paint & Hardware. You’ll help homeowners, contractors, and DIY customers choose paint and supplies, answer project questions, and feel confident about their next steps.

What You’ll Do

  • Listen to customers’ project needs and help them select suitable paint products, colors, finishes, and supplies.
  • Tint and mix paint, assist with color matching, and follow procedures for accurate results.
  • Ask useful questions, help solve project problems, and involve a knowledgeable teammate when needed.
  • Keep shelves stocked, color displays organized, and the tinting station clean and orderly.
  • Pay close attention to measurements, formulas, labels, records, and re-tints.
  • Continue learning about paint products, surface preparation, finishes, and application techniques.
  • Coordinate with the sales floor and warehouse teams to help customers receive the products they need.
  • Regularly lift and move paint cans weighing 20–30 pounds.

What You Bring

  • An interest in color, paint, and helping customers with their projects.
  • Clear verbal and written communication and a patient, friendly manner.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Careful attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfort learning computer systems, tools, and store procedures.
  • Dependability, initiative, and willingness to support teammates.
  • Openness to feedback and an interest in building product knowledge.
  • The ability to regularly lift and move 20–30-pound paint cans.

Previous paint sales experience is helpful, but it is not required. We also welcome applicants who bring care, curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
