Paint Associate

🎨 Paint Associate – Country Paint & Hardware

Location: North Branford, CT Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

This Is NOT Just a Paint Counter Job—This Is a Platform to Show What Excellence Looks Like.

At Country Paint & Hardware, we’ve been more than just a store for nearly five decades—we’ve been a trusted guide to thousands of homeowners, contractors, and DIYers. We’re proud of our reputation for unmatched customer service, deep expertise, and community commitment.

We are looking for a Paint Associate who is not just looking to "get by," but ready to own the customer experience at the paint counter. This is a job for someone who thrives under pressure, embraces accountability, and is eager to master the craft of professional paint service—from color matching and product selection to relationship building and problem-solving.

If you’re someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys staying active, and refuses to settle for “good enough,” we want to hear from you.

🎯 What You Will Be Responsible For:

Paint Expertise & Color Matching: Recommend products, tint paint, and offer expert guidance based on each customer’s needs

Customer Engagement: Deliver a world-class experience with every interaction—whether it's a homeowner choosing colors or a contractor prepping a big job

Problem-Solving: Ask the right questions, offer the right solutions, and follow through until the job is done

Inventory Management: Keep shelves stocked, colors organized, and the tinting station clean, accurate, and efficient

Collaboration: Work closely with the sales floor and warehouse teams to ensure smooth, coordinated customer experience

Product Knowledge: Continuously learn about new paint products, finishes, and application techniques to better serve our customer

Precision & Detail: From labeling and mixing to record-keeping and re-tints, nothing slips through the cracks on your watch

🔥 What You Bring to the Table:

A passion for color, creativity, and precision

High standards—both for yourself and the customer experience

Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)

Strong math and measurement skills

Tech-savviness and ability to quickly learn new tools and systems

Physical ability to lift and move 20–30 lb paint cans regularly

A solution-oriented mindset—you solve problems, not complain about them

Prior experience in paint sales is a plus, but attitude, energy, and integrity are what matter most

💥 What We’re Looking for in a Teammate:

You show up prepared, present, and ready to contribute

You never utter the words “that’s not my job”

You take ownership of problems—and pride in fixing them

You’re passionate about delivering excellence in even the smallest details

You want to grow—not just as an employee, but as a professional and person

🎯 WHAT YOU GET

We invest in people who invest in us. You’ll enjoy:

💵 Competitive pay: (based on experience)

🕒 Full time, flexible day shifts (4, 8, or 10-hour options)

💡 On-the-job learning and growth opportunities

🛒 Generous employee discount

❤️ Medical, dental, long- and short-term disability insurance

⏳ Paid time off

💸 IRA with company match

🚪 Work-life balance: We close at 6PM (and 4PM on Sundays)

🎥 REQUIRED: ONE-WAY VIDEO INTERVIEW

We don’t hire off resumes—we hire real people.
To be considered, you must submit a one-way video interview answering the following:

  1. From what you know about our company, why do you think you'd be a good fit for this job?

  2. What does “excellence” mean to you in customer service, and how do you deliver it every day?

  3. Tell us about a time you went above and beyond for a customer or team member.
